Your First Facial at Tranquility: Reading the Menu

The Tranquility Spa facial menu lists ten treatments, and the names can blur together on a first read. Most of them are 60 minutes. A few run 90. The prices fall into clear tiers once you line them up. This guide walks through the list, so you can book your first facial knowing what each one is built around.

The starting point: Signature Classic Refresh

The Signature Classic Refresh Facial is 60 minutes for $150, the lowest price on the facial menu. If you've never had a facial, or you want a straightforward session before choosing something more specific, this is the sensible place to begin. Think of it as the baseline the other treatments build on.

The 60-minute facials at $170

Five facials share the same length and the same price: 60 minutes for $170. What separates them is the focus, as the menu describes it.

  • Hydrating Facial: hydra dermabrasion plus a moisture infusion.
  • Purifying Acne Facial: aimed at acne-prone skin.
  • Luminous Brightening Facial: uses Vitamin C and is listed for dark spots.
  • Microdermabrasion Facial: built around microdermabrasion.
  • Age Defense Facial: uses Vitamin C and hyaluronic acid.

Since the price is the same, choose by what you want your skin to feel like when you walk out. If dry, tight skin is your main complaint, Hydrating is the obvious match. If you want a brighter look, Luminous Brightening is the one the menu points to. Say what you care about when you book, and the spa can help you narrow it down.

Back Acne Facial

The Back Acne Facial is 60 minutes for $180, the only 60-minute facial priced above $170. It's aimed at the back rather than the face, and like any other treatment it's a draped session. If you've been covering that area for a while, this is a straightforward way to give it dedicated attention.

The 90-minute facials

Three treatments run 90 minutes. Brightening Oxygen Lift is $190 and combines oxygen therapy with a Vitamin C enzyme peel, per the menu. Revitalizing Lift is also $190. Glow Refresher is $220 and includes removal of up to 3 skin tags.

The extra half hour is real time on your skin, not padding. If you want a more thorough session, or you're marking an occasion, 90 minutes gives the person doing your facial room to work without hurrying. The Glow Refresher is the only facial that includes skin tag removal, and it's worth asking the front desk exactly how that part works and whether it suits you before you book. If you have a skin concern you're unsure about, check with your doctor first. Therapists at Tranquility don't diagnose.

Getting ready

Arrive 15 minutes early. New clients fill in a form and sign an informed consent, and arriving early means that time doesn't come out of your treatment. Come with a clean face if you can, and let the person doing your facial know about any sensitivities, allergies or products you're using right now. That's the single most useful thing you can say at the start.

Draping works the same way as with massage: you are always modestly covered, and you can ask for changes in temperature or music or ask to stop at any time. Say so if something feels uncomfortable.

Plan a calm hour afterward if you can. Skip heavy makeup on the day you book, since your face will be cleaned anyway, and don't schedule a meeting straight after. A facial is one of those appointments where the best part is the slow walk back to the car.

Pairing it with a massage

Tranquility offers facials and massage in one location, so it's easy to combine them over a single trip. A 60-minute Hydrating Facial ($170) and a 60-minute Swedish massage ($75), for example, add up to $245. Book them back to back on the same day if you can; there's free parking, and the spa is open daily 9:30 AM to 9:30 PM.

Gift cards and packages are on the site as well. A facial gift card suits someone who's curious but hasn't booked one, since they can choose the treatment themselves. To book, call (925) 722-5888 or use online booking, and mention that it's your first facial so the front desk can set you up properly.
